Our admission portal is an invaluable resource for first-year students, from reviewing application checklist items to checking your status and more. Whether you’re a high school student or international student, our team is ready to provide assistance every step of the way!

Domestic Freshman applicants must fill out and submit the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR), which details coursework, credits earned, grades, graduation plan/diploma type, grade point average and numerical class rank (if available). Students must possess a copy of their high school transcript to use as reference when filling out the SRAR.

Contradictions between a student’s SRAR and official final transcript could cause delay in their decision and even result in the admission file being rescinded. Therefore, it is imperative to review your file thoroughly and ensure all requirements have been fulfilled before the end of the application period.

Transfer applicants should submit an official high school transcript for each college or university they have attended as part of their application file. This should include a list of courses taken, grades earned for each one, and an official class rank. Moreover, those who have taken advantage of the GED program should possess an official certificate confirming its successful completion.

Transfer applicants should check the Admissions System to make sure all their requirements have been fulfilled and they’re on track for admission. If not, they can reach out to the Admissions Office to make arrangements.

International students must produce official academic records to prove they attended a high school or other educational institution with an academic curriculum patterned after the U.S. educational system and obtained their diploma.

Non-Degree Seeking

If you plan to take courses at Texas A&M University but do not intend to earn a degree, non-degree seeking admission is an option. This type of admission is ideal for students who must fulfill certain pre-requisites or wish to take specific classes outside their major field.

As a non-degree student, you are ineligible for financial aid and must enroll in no more than eight credits per term. By registering for these courses, you agree to pay tuition and fees according to the payment policies and schedules established by the Board of Trustees. Furthermore, it is your responsibility to maintain a minimum grade point average.

Non-degree seeking applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible prior to the start of classes for your desired term of entry. You may also register for courses while they remain open (up until June 1 for Summer courses and July 1 for Fall courses)).

As part of the non-degree seeking application, you must fill out a non-degree seeking course section form. These forms can be obtained at the Registration Office and completed online.

After you submit your non-degree course section application, you will be notified via email if it has been approved or denied. After this, you will have access to the Course Registration Portal to begin enrolling in courses for these credits.

Please be aware that course sections may not be guaranteed for all non-degree seeking applicants and the College of Arts and Sciences reserves the right to cancel course offerings and sections when minimum enrollment numbers have been reached. Furthermore, some departments have the authority to limit non-degree students to a certain number of off-campus site-based or online course sections during any given semester.

For any inquiries related to enrollment, including degree verification and insurance inquiries, the Admissions and Registrar’s Office is the go-to resource. They also assist in registering for courses, obtaining transcripts and verifying residency.

International Students applying for non-degree seeking or certificate status should consult the Office of International Programs and Services to make sure they qualify to receive a Form I-20. Furthermore, if you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, immigration laws must also be adhered to when applying for such status.
